The files consist of correspondence, reports, memorandums, agendas, minutes of meetings, telegrams, airgrams, instructions, publications and other material relating to the work and activities of the Interagency Youth Committee. Included are records relating to the background and authority for the committee, committee meetings, interagency relationships, the issue of foreign students, research on student matters, student unrest, the World Youth Assembly, and Foreign Service reporting on youth matters. Many documents in the files are marked for filing in the "Subject-Numeric Files, 02/01/1963-1973" (File POL 13-2 [country/organization designator]) (ARC Identifier 580618), part of RG 59: General Records of the Department of State, but were retained by the Committee secretariat in its files.
